Overview
A demo website for a building materials store: eight programmes from materials and paints to bathrooms and tools, services for private and business customers, search, projects, partners and a multi step enquiry form.
Starting point
A building materials store sells both to a tradesman looking for one item and to an investor looking for a quote for a whole site. The website has to show both of them right away that they have found the right place and lead them the right way.
Idea
Two entrances from the first screen: for people building their own home and for companies and manufacturers. The programmes are clearly divided, the services (consultation, quotes for larger orders, delivery to the site, cutting and preparation) are presented as the reason to buy right there, and the enquiry goes through a short form with an attachment.
Process
For those who build seriously.
- 01
Structure
An introduction with two entrances, programmes, the company story and values, services, projects, partners and contact with a form.
- 02
Design
A light background, strong typography and photos from the site and the store. Serious, but approachable.
- 03
Development
Search with keyboard navigation, a project gallery you can swipe, a multi step enquiry form with an attachment up to 10 MB and consent for data processing.
Design
Views
The site speaks the language of the trade without coldness. The programmes are listed the way tradesmen name them, the services are concrete and the enquiry asks for no more than what a quote needs.
Result
A demo showing how a company with a wide range and two types of customers can have one website that gives everyone what they are looking for right away.
Live site
The demo is a real website. Open it in a new tab and try every page.
Concept project. The brand is fictional and the website was made to show what a solution for this industry could look like.
